Holding Out For More Z

The Zero-Z holder gives shops more Z-axis stroke.

Rego-Fix (www.rego-fix.com) displayed its flexible Zero-Z toolholder that has a short projection to allow shops more Z-axis stroke and larger part-size capabilities.

Ideal for multiplex turning machines and small VMCs, the holder is designed to deliver improved surface finishes, increased accuracy and greater tool rigidity. The display at the Westec event showed that the toolholder's special flush-collet-nut design virtually eliminates tool overhang. The Zero-Zs are pre-balanced to G2.5 at 22,000 rpm and have as a standard part of their design the company's Hi-Q external clamping nut for added clamping force.
