W.R. Timken Jr.

W.R. Timken Jr., chairman of the board of directors for The Timken Co., Canton, Ohio, is now the U.S. ambassador to Germany. With the appointment, the board chose his nephew, Ward J. "Tim" Timken Jr. to succeed him. The younger Timken is a vice chairman and president of company's Steel Group. Besides making alloy steel, The Timken Co. manufactures bearings.
