Drake Manufacturing offers four Gear System:Hobber (GS: H) machines for vertical hobbing helical, spur, spline, and worm gears from 6 to 72 inches in diameter. Reportedly, setups are simple, changeovers quick and machining time increased because the machines' software and servomotors control all moveable axes. CNCs have data storage for hob-life management as well as gear definition, hob geometry and process data.
